Content Management System Websites

A content management system, or CMS, is designed to make it easy for non-technical users to add, edit and manage a large amount of content. A CMS uses a database to store content that might be needed by the system. Content is stored in the database to facilitate reuse and enable flexible presentation options.

A website using a CMS(WCM, WCMS or Web CMS) is for creating and managing a large, dynamic collection of Internet material (HTML documents and their associated images, videos and data). A CMS facilitates content creation, content control, editing, and essential website maintenance functions.

The software provides authoring (and other) tools designed to allow users with little knowledge of HTML or programming languages to create and manage content with relative ease.

Content administration is done through browser-based interfaces, and unlike traditional web-sites, a CMS allows non-technical users to make changes to the website with little training. A CMS requires an experienced programmer to set up the wire-frame and add features, but once the wire-frame is created, day-to-day web-site maintenance can be performed by non-technical administrators.

Wire-frame Template

The wire-frame template is used so that new and existing content can be automatically applied to a website. To keep costs contained there are hundreds of industry standard templates available for use. For a unique look, specific color schemes and individual typography, templates can be modified for a fraction of the cost of a custom design. Of course, if only an exclusive custom-design will do, we have some of the most talented programmers and award-winning designers in the region working for us.

Easily Editable Content

Content in a CMS website is much easier and quicker to edit and manipulate. Our WCMS software includes WYSIWYG editing tools allowing non-technical individuals to create and edit content. Due to the CMS design, content can be used repeatedly in multiple places, so any changes only need to be made once. There is no need to modify multiple pages if core text, such as hours, phone numbers, e-mail address, slogans etc, change.

Upgradeable Features and Functionality

Our WCMS software includes plug-ins or modules that can be easily installed to extend an existing site's functionality. As your needs and the technology of the Internet change, your website can grow to accommodate.

Web Standards Upgrades

Active CMS websites receive regular updates that include new feature sets and keep the website and underlying programming and systems up to current web standards.

Work-flow Management

Workflow is the process of creating cycles of sequential and parallel tasks that must be accomplished in order to produce content. For example, a content creator can submit a story, but it is not published until the editor cleans it up and the publisher approves it.

Document Management

The CMS software provides a means of managing the life cycle of a document, allowing the content to be created, but not published until a certain time. A stop publish date can also be set, so you do not have to worry about taking down that notice of an event once it has past. A whole month of blogging can be created in an afternoon and scheduled for publication.
